Nieuwoudtville - within a 20 kilometer stretch – from the top of Van Rhyn’s pass, out past the Wild Flower Reserve – there are THREE biomes – three vegetation types (Cape Fynbos, Succulent Karoo and the Dolerite Sills). Nieuwoudtville is also the ‘Bulb capital of the World’! For Birders, we have many birds to ‘twitch’ and add to your list; such as Ludwig’s Bustards and Namaqua Grouse to mention a few, also Spring and Autumn migrations. On the Geological side we have a glacial pavement that is three million years old. The furthest northern point of the Table Mountain Sandstone complex is outside town and Oorlogskloof is the North-Western end of the Cedarberg Corridor.
